Yamada Shoichiro (山田正一郎) Exhibition at Ai Gallery (藍ギャラリー)

This exhibition (2011/05/23-28) by Yamada Shoichiro (山田正一郎) at Ai Gallery (藍ギャラリー) consisted of a set of large abstract paintings - one featured on the promotional card. A note about this painting - it featured a clear panel in front of it which generated reflections - meaning that the picture would look differently depending on the room it is in. The gallery has all white surfaces (wall, floor and ceiling) and I think the picture would probably look best in a more normal room with generally darker surfaces. Some of the paintings had clear panels in front of them, and some were directly exposed. In the very bight, all-white gallery, the uncovered paintings tended to look better, but the covering brings out the colors somewhat and would look very good in the right room. この展示会は、絵葉書のような絵でした。数枚の大きい絵で、透明カバーが付いている絵と普通カバーのない絵両方がありまして、明るい部屋で、カバーがない方がいいかも知りません。もうちょっと暗い部屋だと、絵葉書にあるカバー付き絵が似合うと思う。
